Data centers and server rooms require extremely clean air, as the presence of even small amounts of dust or other contaminants can compromise the performance and reliability of electronic equipment. As our businesses and daily lives rely heavily on information sharing, it is more important than ever that these data centers maintain a clean environment to prevent mechanical failure and machine downtime.
The air filtration system in a data center typically includes a combination of pre-filters, high- efficiency V-cell or Minipleat filters, and activated carbon filters. Pre-filters capture larger particle and protect downstream filters, while V-cell or Minipleat filters remove small particles such as dirt, pollen, and other airborne contaminants. Activated carbon filters can be used to remove odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may be present in the air.
